Analysis of the Commitments of Traders reports on 2017.06.13

EURO FX

The Commitments of Traders data indicate a slight increase in open interest to 551,076 contracts.

The total positions of commercials increased by 6639 contracts to -454587 contracts.

The total positions of large speculators declined by 2.6% to 71335 contracts.

British Pound

The Commitments of Traders report shows that open interest remained virtually unchanged at the level of 294,515 contracts.

The total positions of commercials increased by 12.1% to 38569 contracts.

The total positions of large speculators decreased by 5,923 contracts to -35732 contracts.

Canadian Dollar

According to the Commitments of Traders, the growth of open interest exceeded 4.0% to 228,854 contracts.

Commercials reduced their total positions by 3.2% to 107,481 contracts.

There is an increase in the total positions of large speculators by 3,653 contracts to -96083 contracts.

Japanese Yen

The Commitments of Traders data show an increase in open interest by 7.1% to 274,075 contracts.

Commercials reduced their total positions by 4.5% to 68,315 contracts.

There is also a decrease in the total positions of large speculators by 3980 contracts to -59798 contracts.

A relatively high index of total positions among commercials indicates the strengthening of the currency in the medium term.

A relatively high index of total positions among large speculators indicates a weakening of the currency in the medium term.
